ZAYIN is the Hebrew name for the Hebrew letter ז (Z) which corresponds to the number 7.  ZAYIN is the 7th letter of the Hebrew alphabet.  In its simplest form, ZAYIN is associated with a tool or weapon—something that, in the ancient world, was directly tied to survival and provision. The shape of the letter is sometimes described as resembling a sword or a crowned figure, reinforcing this idea in a symbolic, illustrative way. In Scripture, the number 7 consistently represents COMPLETION and the cycle of sanctification. The 7 days of creation provide one of the clearest examples of this pattern, pointing to God’s order and the COMPLETION of His work. Christ is the crowned King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He alone is the Bread of Life—our true source of sustenance—and the one who strengthens us to endure the spiritual battle in the flesh. Christ is also the Logos, the eternal Word of God. Scripture describes the Word of God as the sword of the Spirit within the armor of God, the ABSOLUTE TRUTH by which believers stand firm. Through this TRUTH, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, we are TRANSFORMED (METAMORPHOO) and brought into ongoing sanctification in Christ.  It is important to clarify that the use of ZAYIN and the number 7 is not intended in a mystical or numerological sense. The connection is purely linguistic and symbolic within a biblical framework, and does not assign any inherent or independent power to the letter or number. The number 7 carries a biblical meaning of COMPLETION, and ZAYIN is simply the Hebrew letter that represents that number 7. It just so happens that two 7's can be combined to form the letter Z!  For this reason, the letter Z is added to the end of the Greek word METAMORPHOO to express a biblically grounded meaning behind our name.
